“Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we’re all in this together.” - Brene Brown

I believe first and foremost in the power of connection; connection to ourselves, to our bodies, to those around us, and to our community.  Creating a context of connection, safety and curiosity are vital to exploring not only inwards, but outwards into the powerful external and systemic forces that influence our lives and our work in therapy. Key to this is giving context to my own identities: I am a cis heterosexual white settler woman on these unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) lands.

Working within a framework of attachment and mindfulness, my counselling work is guided by a trauma lens with a strong feminist and anti-oppression background.  I am committed to a philosophy of sex positivity and to uplifting love in all of its forms. Sexuality and sexual health have always been a passion and a core piece of my social justice work.  I believe that sex has the capacity to heal, nurture and empower, but I also know that sex and sexuality can be the origin of shame, guilt and pain. My aim is to meet these darker forces with genuineness, compassion, education and playfulness, and bring them into the light.

I work with my clients using a number of techniques based in emotion-focused, solution-focused and somatic therapies.  I support all bodies, all genders, all relationship styles and all sexual orientations.

When I’m not working, I love to travel and crochet and have an eternal passion for all things chocolate.
