we’re LOOKING FOR NEW CLINICIANS TO JOIN OUR TEAM!

Allura Sex Therapy Centre is BC’s leading trauma-informed therapy practice that exclusively focuses on sex, sexuality, and relationships. We are passionate about providing exceptional attachment-focused sex therapy services with additional focuses in relationship and trauma therapy, providing a supportive environment for both clients and team members.

We have 2 locations in BC: one in beautiful Downtown Vancouver and another in the quiet community of Oak Bay in Victoria, BC; our services extend virtually across BC and Canada (unregulated provinces only).

Are you the candidate we’ve been looking for?

You are a passionate, mature, and self-assured trauma-informed therapist who enjoys working collaboratively and is seeking to grow their clinical skills and expertise. You’re able to put clients at ease upon first meeting, and have a semi-structured approach to your work; you’re able to guide clients through the therapeutic process, building clear assessments and plans of care while ensuring the client(s) feel heard, supported, and validated and have ultimate choice of how the work progresses. You are seeking to be a part of a team that works together, rather than apart, and supports each other to do the best work. Further, you:

  • are committed to inclusivity and weaving an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens into your practice

  • have specialized training or experience in sex, couples, or trauma therapy

  • open to collaboration, growing your case management skills, and want to provide the best care possible

At Allura, we look to bring together therapists who want to build their practice and develop stellar counselling skills and reputations in the specialty of sex therapy, couples counselling, and trauma work who share our values and vision. This looks like:

  • Collaborative and Like-minded Community: we work in collaboration with fellow clinical team members to ensure we are able to offer our clients well-rounded support and seamless care; while you may be conducting sessions independently, you feel the support of a team consistently around you.

inclusive & anti-oppressive

Every person and part of them is welcome at Allura. We created a safe space for people of all identities, particularly folk who may not feel safe otherwise. LGBTQ+, non-monogamous, kinky, sex workers, BIPOC. Beyond that, we actively challenge injustices and aggression in the system both in and outside of the therapy space while remaining aware of and reflective on our own power & privilege.

Our team acknowledges that we are uninvited settlers on the traditional, stolen, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) and Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nations, also known as Vancouver, British Columbia. We hold gratitude and awareness of the history of the land and people to whom it belongs to, and are committed to decolonizing our practice as therapists and as humans.

How to Apply

  1. Send an email to Owner & Lead Director, Diana Sadat, at diana@alluracentre.com with the subject “I want to join the Allura team!”. In your email, please include your latest CV and a cover letter letting us know why you want to join our team.

  2. If it’s a fit, you’ll hear back from us shortly with more information about our practice and how we work, as well as an Inquiry Form to complete with some more details about yourself

  3. From there, we’ll set up a clinical interview where we provided you with a case conceptualization prior to the interview and we’ll get to see how you work clinically. Think of this as a conversation to see if our ways of conceptualization will fit together.

  4. Finally, we’ll check in with your references – then, we’ll make an offer if we both feel like we’d be a good fit to work together.

All along the way, we’ll ask you if you’d like to continue – we believe that fit is bi-directional and you need to feel the fit with us as much as we may feel the fit with you. Just like the therapeutic fit, we know that when everyone involved feels aligned, we’ll work best together.
