Online Sex Therapy in Ontario
Space to talk about sex, intimacy and relationships, wherever you are in Ontario.
Allura is a collective of independent counsellors offering online sex therapy and relationship counselling for adults across Ontario, including Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Windsor and communities in the north.
Explore support with a psychologist registered in Ontario, or get to know other counsellors whose approach and services fit what you are looking for.
You can bring the questions you have.
You might be navigating a difference in desire, feeling disconnected from your partner, questioning parts of your identity, or wanting to feel more comfortable with sex. You do not need a diagnosis or a perfect explanation to begin a conversation.
Online appointments let you look beyond your immediate neighbourhood for an approach that feels relevant. You can attend from a private space in a city, a smaller community or a rural part of Ontario.
We welcome people across gender identities, sexual orientations and relationship structures. Individual counsellors bring different experience with concerns such as kink, non monogamy, cultural identity, shame and intimacy after trauma. Check their profiles for the support each person offers.
Desire & intimacy
Explore low desire, differences in desire and changes in sexual connection.
Relationships
Find support with communication, conflict, trust and the patterns you want to understand.
Sexuality & identity
Make room for questions about identity, body image, sexual confidence and how you relate to others.
Trauma & sexuality
Look for support with the impact of past experiences on safety, trust and intimacy, at a pace that works for you.
Looking for a psychologist?
If you would like to work with a psychologist, check their designation and Ontario registration as well as their approach and current services.
Psychologist registration is different from registration as a Registered Psychotherapist. Use the exact profession when discussing your needs or checking benefits.
Other counselling options
You may prefer another counsellor’s approach, experience, fees or appointment options. Explore profiles of counsellors who list Ontario among the regions they serve.
RCC, CCC and intern listings describe different credentials or training. They do not all mean Ontario Registered Psychotherapist or psychologist registration. Ask about the individual’s services and use their exact designation when checking insurance.

How online counselling works
Your first step is an inquiry. It gives you space to ask about fit and the practical details before deciding whether to book.
Find your fit
Explore counsellors who serve Ontario, or tell our intake team what support you are looking for.
Talk about next steps
Ask about the counsellor’s approach, services, fees, consultation options and current availability.
Prepare your space
Your counsellor will explain joining details, privacy practices and consent. Choose somewhere you can speak comfortably.
Insurance for Ontario clients
Benefits plans can name particular professions. A plan covering psychological services may have different requirements from one covering counselling or Registered Psychotherapists.
- Give your insurer the practitioner’s name, exact professional designation and registration details.
- Ask about online sessions and the particular individual or relationship service.
- Check limits, referral requirements, receipts and any direct billing arrangements.
A sex therapy focus alone does not establish benefits eligibility. Confirm the person and service rather than assuming all counsellors have the same coverage.
Fees & counselling options
Allura’s practitioners run independent practices and set their own rates. Review the profile and ask about the fee, session length and any sliding scale arrangements before booking.
If cost is a concern, use the fees tool and Ontario directory to explore the options available to you. Supervised intern services, where offered, have their own scope and insurance arrangements.
Confirm the fee and benefits requirements before relying on reimbursement. Direct billing is a payment arrangement, not a guarantee that a plan covers the service.
Your questions, welcome.
Can I access online sex therapy from anywhere in Ontario?
You can explore Allura’s online options while attending from Ontario, including Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton and smaller or northern communities. Choose someone who serves your region and confirm that their services fit your needs. Start with the Ontario directory.
Can I choose a psychologist rather than another counsellor?
Yes. Check the person’s professional designation and Ontario registration, then explore their approach and current services. A psychologist, Registered Psychotherapist, RCC and CCC are different credentials. You can choose based on fit as well as any profession your benefits plan specifies.
Can I work with another Allura counsellor instead?
Yes. Explore the profiles of counsellors who list Ontario among their service regions. Ask about their approach, the support you want and their appointment options. Their individual credentials, service scope and insurance eligibility may differ from those of a psychologist.
Will my extended health plan cover online sessions?
Your own plan determines reimbursement. Give your insurer the practitioner’s name, exact designation, registration details and proposed service. Check whether online individual or relationship sessions qualify, along with annual limits, referral requirements and receipt details. Do not assume that coverage for psychologists includes every other counselling designation.
Are private sessions covered by OHIP?
Private psychological services are not covered by OHIP. You may have extended health benefits that reimburse some costs, depending on your plan and practitioner. Check the fee and your own benefits before booking; direct billing does not itself guarantee coverage.
How do I begin, and what do I need for an online session?
Explore a profile and ask about suitability, consultation options, fees and availability. You can also ask Allura for help finding a match. Your counsellor will explain the video platform, privacy practices and consent process. Use a private space, a suitable device and a reliable connection. Confirm the appointment time in your own time zone, and discuss travel outside Ontario before a session.
