Fees & Policies
A little clarity before you begin. Explore sex therapy and relationship counselling fees, find options within your budget, and understand insurance, payment and cancellation policies.
Allura Sex Therapy Centre
A collective of independent counsellors.

Find counselling within your budget.
Each counsellor sets their own fees. Choose individual or couples and relationship counselling, then set the most you would like to spend per session. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
RCC, CCC, RSW and RCSW are separate credentials. Choose the exact one your benefits plan covers. A listed credential or direct billing option does not guarantee that your plan will pay.

Try a higher budget, another session length, or a different filter. You can also ask for help finding a counsellor or discuss sliding scale options.
These are published session fees. Sliding scale arrangements are discussed directly with the counsellor and may differ from the listed rate. An inquiry lets you confirm fit, fees and availability before booking. Explore the full directory.
Sliding scale & Accessible Cost counselling
If cost is part of your decision, you are welcome to ask about reduced fee options before booking.
Sliding scale with a counsellor
Some counsellors offer sliding scale fees for clients facing financial barriers. Rates and availability vary by counsellor.
New clients can use the counsellor’s inquiry form to explain their budget and ask what may be available. Current clients can speak directly with their counsellor.
A reduced fee is agreed with the counsellor before booking. The finder shows published fees and cannot confirm a private sliding scale arrangement.
Accessible Cost counselling
Our Accessible Cost counselling program offers reduced fee sessions with supervised intern counsellors completing their counselling training.
Check the current intern’s profile for session fees, services and start dates. Intern counselling is generally not eligible for extended health reimbursement, so confirm your plan’s requirements before booking.
Insurance coverage & direct billing
Sex therapy is counselling focused on sexuality, intimacy or related concerns. Extended health coverage depends on your plan and the counsellor’s eligible professional designation.
Before your first session
- Ask your benefits provider which exact counselling credentials your plan covers.
- Confirm any annual limit, per session limit, referral requirement, and eligibility for individual, relationship or online counselling.
- Check the counsellor’s listed credentials and ask about direct billing before booking.
RCC and CCC are different credentials. A plan that covers one may not cover the other. RSW and RCSW should also be checked against your plan’s wording.
CVAP, the Crime Victim Assistance Program, is a funding program rather than a professional credential. Ask a counsellor who lists CVAP about eligibility and arrangements.
Common credentials in our collective
| Listed as | Full name |
|---|---|
| RCC | Registered Clinical Counsellor |
| CCC | Canadian Certified Counsellor |
| RSW | Registered Social Worker |
| RCSW | Registered Clinical Social Worker |
The finder’s coverage choices come from the current directory. Intern counsellors may not have a reimbursable designation.
When direct billing is available
Some counsellors list direct billing. Use the finder’s direct billing filter to see who offers it, then confirm whether it can be used with your insurer or funding program.
Confirm the amount covered and any balance you would need to pay before your appointment. A direct billing listing is not confirmation that a particular claim will be approved.
When you submit your own claim
Pay the session fee upfront and use the official receipt provided after the session to request reimbursement from your benefits provider.
Allura’s counselling receipts do not list sex therapy as the service. Ask your provider what documentation your plan requires.
Cancellation & rescheduling policy
Your appointment time is reserved for you. Counsellors at Allura require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations and rescheduling requests with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee, regardless of the reason.
Contact your counsellor through your usual appointment contact details if you need to make a change.
Paying for your session
Session fees can be paid by credit card or e transfer. Cash, with exact change, and cheque are available for in person sessions only.
Confirm payment arrangements with your counsellor before your first appointment. If you have a billing question, contact hello@alluracentre.com.

Can I request a consultation before booking?
You can request a free 15 minute consultation to discuss fit and next steps. Ask the counsellor about current consultation availability when you inquire.
Do you offer sliding scale counselling?
Some counsellors offer sliding scale fees for clients facing financial barriers. Rates and availability vary. Ask the counsellor about your budget before booking. Accessible Cost counselling with supervised interns is another reduced fee option.
Can I use my extended health benefits for sex therapy?
Coverage depends on your benefits plan and the counsellor’s professional designation. Check the exact credential your plan covers and whether your chosen counselling service is eligible. Intern counselling is generally not eligible for reimbursement.
Can you bill my insurer directly?
Some counsellors list direct billing. Use the direct billing filter, then confirm arrangements with the counsellor and your benefits provider. If direct billing is not available, pay the session fee upfront and submit your receipt for reimbursement.
