Allura Sex Therapy Centre is a trauma-informed therapy practice focused on sex, sexuality, relationships, and intimacy.

We provide attachment-focused sex therapy, alongside relationship therapy and trauma-informed counselling, in a supportive environment for both clients and practitioners.

Our vision is to bring together excellent sex therapists and budding sex therapists under one umbrella to support clients and each other in this work. Therapists that thrive on our team are passionate, team-oriented, and trauma-informed practitioners who are aligned with our values and excited to contribute to this work. Training Background

  • Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), Registered Social Worker (RSW), Registered Psychologist (RPsych), or Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or AASECT Certified

  • We only accept sex therapists who have a minimum of a masters’ degree!

  • Extensive training in sex therapy, as well as couples therapy

  • Committed to being a sex therapist – we bring together therapists who are committed to our speciality!

  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience

Compensation

We offer two models to our team members that best suits their practice and provides growth across their years with our team!

Option A : Tiered commission split over your tenure with Allura

Best suited for therapists with a part-time caseload, are still building, or prefer to have everything taken care for them (including email and Jane)

  • 60/40 split years 1 & 2

  • 63/37 split years 3 & 4

  • 65/35 split years 5+

Option B : Membership Model (In-Person or Virtual)

Best suited for therapists with a full-time or near full caseload that want more independence in their practice but still want access to support

    Complete the application form ‘Apply Now’ and tell us a little about yourself and your clinical work. If it looks like a potential fit, we’ll follow up with you to discuss moving forward with a short chat.

    SET UP AN INTERVIEW

    Next, we’ll set up a clinical interview. You’ll be provided with a case conceptualization prior to, so we can have a snapshot of how you work clinically and if your conceptualization will fit well with ours.

  • Step 3

    CHECK YOUR REFERENCES

    Finally, we’ll check in with your references to get a more holistic view of your experience. Then, if we both feel excited about the opportunity and fit of working together, we’ll make an offer.

  • Step 4

    FIND THE RIGHT FIT

    Along the way, we’ll ask you if you’d like to continue. We believe that the best fit is bi-directional and you need feel invested just as much as we do. Our best work is done when everyone feels aligned.

Are you a student?

Apply for Our Counselling Practicum Program

We welcome practicum students who are eager to learn and excited to focus on sex therapy, ideally with a background in sexual health. This placement is best suited for mature, self-aware students who can work independently, value reflective practice, and bring diverse perspectives to our collaborative, trauma-informed team.

Applicants with with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences as a BIPOC, POC, or LGBTQIA2S+ person are strongly encouraged to apply

Applications are now closed and will re-open December 2026 for our September 2027 placement. We do not take mid-year placements outside of the fall placement.

Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed – due to the volume of applications we receive, only successful candidates will be contacted.

  • For the 2026-2027 year, we are accepting 1 masters-level counselling psychology student to complete an 8-month practicum. The placement will begin September 2027 and run until April 2027. The placement involves:

    • One-to-one and relational counselling — both virtual and in-person — at our Downtown Vancouver location.

    • Facilitation of groups and/or workshops

    • An expected time commitment of 2-3 days per week; In-person availability is required — we do not offer virtual-only placements.

    • An onboarding program focused on the practice of counselling and sex therapy

    • A 40-credit foundational sex therapy training

    • Weekly individual clinical supervision

    • Bi-weekly team case consultations with the Allura Team

    • Bi-weekly trainings on sex, sexuality and sex therapy

    • Supportive clinical environment

    • Opportunities for career growth
