My Practice as a Therapist

If you're feeling disconnected with your sexual identity, confused about your experience of desire or pleasure, insecure around sexual experiences, or uncertain about how to communicate about sex and sexuality, you've come to the right place. We can work together to make sense of your past sexual experiences, process and understand emotional responses, learn to embody and express your sexual identity, and build confidence around the topic of sexuality altogether.

What You Can Expect When Working With Me

In sessions with me, I'll work to develop a relationship with you that is based in a foundation of non-judgement, respect, curiosity, and trust. I'll want to understand all parts of you as a whole person, and remain curious about how you experience and make sense of the world. I see my role in therapy as a steady guide alongside you as we pave a path together towards your goals. I will notice and get curious about your emotional responses and experiences, explore how you make meaning of those moments, offer suggestions and resources for different choices when it feels like you're stuck, and gently challenge you to grow into new territory. I'll remain steady with you and make space for hard and heavy moments, and will make use of humour and lightness where appropriate. I'll also encourage you to notice emotional experiences within your body, so that you can deepen your understanding of the interaction between your emotional system, your thoughts, and your physical sensations, as these all play a role in sexual experiences.

Why Sex Therapy?

I chose to specialize in sex therapy because sex and sexuality can play a large role in our lives, our identities, and our relationships, and I believe that there are too few spaces to explore and celebrate these parts of ourselves. Societal messaging can create feelings of shame, fear, and insecurity about our sexual identities and experiences, and I want to be part of a cultural shift toward normalizing these themes, inviting conversation, and celebrating identity and expression, in whatever way it fits for you!

My Clients Have Described Me As…

  • A caring and understanding listener
  • A safe place to have hard conversations
  • A source of support, information, and resources

My Favourite Quote

“Pleasure is the measure.” — Emily Nagoski

What I Do When I'm Not In The Office

Outside of work, I love being outside and spending time in the mountains, hiking and camping, but equally love a cozy, rainy day curled up inside with my dog and a good book. In spare time at home, I can be found crocheting, baking, or playing board games or video games with friends!
